Under general supervision, evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering and technology principles and techniques to assigned business problems. The candidate will lead and develop projects that have moderate to high impact on the business. The candidate ensures that results meet established needs, goals, and timelines. In this staff-level position, the candidate will lead, support and mentor teams of software developers working on Johnson Control's configuration software for chiller products and other projects as necessary. The candidate will be responsible for additional applications and utilities required to support this suite of software. How you will do it:
Technical Team Lead reporting to the Sr. Software Development Manager. They will be responsible for leading development teams within a Scaled Agile (SAFE) Framework. Designs, develops, documents, and implements software solutions in accordance with project specifications, ensuring completion within the planned time constraint and meeting the established objectives for quality, reliability, and performance. Uses judgment in suggesting adaptations or modifications where appropriate. Analyzes the impact and feasibility of change requests on existing software and implements corrective actions. Provides both technical and administrative documentation in a timely manner for developed software and design models. Provides technical input, feedback, and consultation to other internal organizations involved in system design or implementation activities. Participate in technology transfer initiatives between IT departments, R&D, and Product Engineering. Directs less experienced software developers in investigation, analysis, and data gathering. Provides instruction and recommendations in the application of sound practices in software development. Review's coding projects. Provides field support as needed. Adheres to the Company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards. What we look for:
Preferred - Bachelor's Degree in computer science, or a bachelor's degree in engineering, Science, or Mathematics discipline with strong Computer Science skills. Experience working as a technical lead within a software development team. 6
years software development experience in ASP.NET, C#, HTML, Java, or related high-level language. Experience working with Agile teams (Knowledge of SAFE Agile preferred) Some experience in relational database management systems and SQL. Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems and MS Office Suite programs. Ability to manipulate large data collections in both databases and spreadsheets. Ability to understand technical material. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with engineers, analysts, marketing personnel, designers, and drawing and software developers. Ability to work independently, with good organizational skills and the flexibility and adaptability to work on multiple projects with exceptional attention to detail. High degree of interpersonal skills including both oral and written communication. Ability to assimilate and implement new and emerging technologies. The Ideal Candidate will also meet the following requirements:
Strong engineering, scientific or mathematical background with the capacity to understand heat transfer principles. Proficiency with MS SQL Server. Experience with source code repositories such as SVN, SourceSafe, or MS TFS. Front end UI development experience with proficient knowledge in MVC, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, and CSS. Understanding and experience with Azure Compute platform Understanding databinding between API and JavaScript framework, particularly JSON and AngularJS.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Software DevelopmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
