Quality Manager

Job Details What you will do:
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and innovating process improvement projects within manufacturing, engineering and administration operations for the Chiller Quality and Operations group based in New Freedom, PA. This is a global role and works with the Director of Quality and Operations for our Chillers business unit. Global locations include France, Asia, Monterrey and Durango, Mexico, Turkey, York, PA, San Antonio, TX, and two plants in China. Responsibilities include analyzing warranty data to drive quality improvements in design, manufacturing, and field support to meet corporate annual commitments. Responsible for project execution through using the CI, (Black Belts and Lean Implementers) team as a strategic resource. Using Continuous Improvement tools help the supplier's organization to meet JCI quality requirements. Improvements will be based on facts and data. Work between GISC and Regions to ensure lead times, plant issues and customer delivery issues are looked after appropriately. How you will do it:
Under minimal direction, advises continuous improvement and warranty reduction on LTS / STC products. Leads teams to develop electronic/mechanical controls, panel, and chillers to meet or exceed intended warranty levels. These teams are comprised of, but not limited to, the following groups:
design/manufacturing engineers, sub-contractors, suppliers, and field service personnel. Organizes, directs, and leads continuous development teams to lower LTS / STC warranty claims. Employs metrics (Pareto charts) to evaluate trends in warranty claims and improvements. Performs root cause analysis of warranty issues. Maintains corrective action plan spreadsheet/database. Assigns tasks to members of warranty team (engineer, subcontractor, etc.) and assures accountability for assignments. Is a core member of the Product Development Process Provide technical support to on-site audits of BE plants and suppliers if required. To lead the audit if required and build final report. Work with Engineering to resolve best design, manufacturing process, and footprint using continuous improvement tools Leadership to drive improvements in the Chiller quality systems Responsible for project execution to achieve warranty cost reductions Reports on project progress to management team and other appropriate leadership levels at least monthly. Prepares detailed plans to supervise project performance and assure accurate completion and achievement of goals. Identifies and implements recovery plans when projects are not performing according to plan. Apply Benchmark tools (globally) to identify best business practices and complete projects to implement. Ensure the use of Six Sigma, Kaizen, VA/VE tools and techniques to measure, analyze, improve, and control project processes. Helps identify training needs to improve operational efficiencies. What we look for:
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and/or Operations. Master's degree preferred. Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, and/or Green Belt. 8 years of experience of growing responsibility in a manufacturing and / or quality environment and an understanding of manufacturing and quality systems. Excellent project management skills and able to work on multiple projects. Capable of advising multiple teams but will not have direct reports. Experience with training and mentoring others on process improvement methods. Desired Skills and / or Certifications:
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, ability to lead, influence and empower, ability to work with little supervision. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required. Must be a sophisticated user in Excel and able to create pivot tables and interpret raw data Minimum 5 years of experience mining data and being able to different data to identify root causes to drive improvement. Up to 20% global travel required. HVAC proven experience preferred; or industry related to heavy equipment/large equipment. Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
